BatteryXpress started as a battery distributor in the state of Indiana.  We started supplying batteries to customers focused in the alternative energy markets in 2002 and have expanded our product line to include solar panels and accessories as well as full integrated systems for stand-alone towers.  We also supply the State of Indiana with batteries and hope to expand our product line to become a true distributor of alternative energy products.

Robert J. Koester AIA, LEED AP is a Professor of Architecture in the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University and the Founding Director of the Center for Energy Research/Education/Service (CERES).  He serves as Chair of the university-level Council on the Environment (COTE), a clearinghouse for campus-wide sustainability. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Greening of the Campus Conferences. He received his BARCH degree from the University of Kentucky and his MARCH degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

For the last four years he has been collaborated in offering workshops on “Design Strategies for Low-Energy, Sustainable, and Secure Buildings” throughout the country based on a curriculum model which he structured.

Richard E. Belcher opened First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Fulton County in 1966. He began as President, and continues in that role today. 

The name of First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Fulton County was changed in 1984 to First Federal Savings Bank to better reflect the function of the bank. Since then, First Federal has become one of the fastest growing banks in the state, with a strong emphasis on mortgage loans. First Federal services over $1.3 billion of first mortgage home loans.

Although First Federal had a modest beginning in the back room of a neighborhood grocery store with only two employees, the bank now operates from six locations with 160 employees, including tellers, new deposit associates, loan servicing specialists, and mortgage loan originators. The size of the bank may have changed, but its foundation of quality service and flexible mortgage programs has remained constant.

Home & Mobile Energy of Middlebury has been in the renewable energy field since 2000.The first grid-tie net-metering systems in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan were pioneered by Home & Mobile Energy. As a result of this, HME has had a crucial part in training and working with the local utility companies in implementing a contract for their customers. They have also installed over 500 off-grid and gridtie solar; and wind systems in the United States and several other countries.  Home & Mobile Energy designs, engineers, and builds all types of mobile power solutions for varied markets ranging from governmental applications to recreational vehicles. HME is the local sponsor for the National Solar Tour sponsored by the American Solar Energy Society.  The 2007 Tour, held in September 2007, educated the general public how other area residents are trimming energy bills, increasing their energy independence, and taking steps to address global warming in the Michiana area.
